Introducing the xSOCKET Metric
The xSOCKET Metric, is a universal female socket block that works on all universal steadicam type vests, such as Tiffen(R) Exovest, GPI PRO(™) vests and all universal socket block steadicam type arms. The benefits using M8 metric instead of 1/4″ UNC are as follows: Better matched curvature on the tip mating the male socket block sockets resulting in less play, 30% strength increase due to larger diameter, interchangeable screw allowing to optimize thread depth depending on setup. The knobs have been updated with an internal socket minimizing protrusion depth as much as possible, still keeping “one finger operation” for easy adjustment in/out.
The xSOCKET Metric comes with two different lengths M8 adjustment knobs, allowing for a greater angle adjustment on tilt than normal (up to +/-16.5 degrees depending on male socket block). As the xSOCKET also is slightly thicker than traditional ones, the operator has more adjustment angle than normal. The operator can replace the M8 35mm adjustment screw with a 45mm length if desired.
The xSOCKET is made in titanium plated stainless steel, ensuring a robust and strong connection. It can be mounted both regular and goofy.
